Have a Night Out while Staying in

Sections of this topic

Have you ever wanted to catch up with friends but didn’t feel like the house? Well, fellow introverts, this one’s for you. Since the strict pandemic safety measures were introduced, we’ve grown used to managing all of our daily activities inside our four walls. These tough times have motivated us to become more creative and find ways to maintain our social life without risking the health of our loved ones.  Even as the safety precautions have loosened, we’re still hesitant to jump back into our old habits.

But, how do you make up for lost time with friends if you’re avoiding cafés and restaurants? That’s where creativity kicks in. In fact, you can have a great night with friends at your home if you make an effort to plan the entire evening. What better way to connect with friends than have them come over and cook them a nice meal while you share the latest news? If you’re out of ideas and have no clue how to entertain your friends the next time they come over, keep reading for some fun group activities.

    A cook-off challenge

Instead of cooking the entire feast alone, why not take it to another level and organize a cook-off with your friends? Here’s how it works— you either choose a course that each of you have to make or select an ingredient that each person has to include in their menu.

Let’s say you choose chickpeas (I hear those are in right now) as your special ingredient. That means you have to come up with a delicious dish that incorporates this healthy legume and then you go round tasting each other’s specialties. In the end, you take a vote to choose the best dish. You can also reward the winner with a nice bottle of wine or anything else to your liking.

    Home spa

Having a spa day at home is a fantastic idea for a girls’ night when you get to pamper yourself in the company of your closest girlfriends. Why should you go to some fancy hotel and pay a lot of money for something you can organize yourself?

When you get together, slip into some comfy pajamas or bathrobes and make face masks and body scrubs together. A homemade product is much better than the overpriced store-bought one because you know that the ingredients you used are one hundred percent natural. You could even do each other’s mani-pedis and make-up.

    Game night

Who doesn’t love a good old game night? The best way to enjoy quality time with friends is to spice it up a bit by making it a competition of some sort. There is a wide range of games to play, such as backgammon, card, trivia games or picturesque.

However, if you’re not really into these old-fashioned board-games, you can always opt for a more modern alternative. You can engage in an action-packed video game and compete against each other or, better yet, test your luck in an online casino. If you’re feeling adventurous, why not spin a couple of slots or play a fun game of poker online? Maybe you could even participate in a  slot tournament together. Just don’t forget to read a bit about slot tournament rules if you’re new to the casino scene.

    Cheers!

All you need is a cocktail shaker for this one and a set of fancy glasses. The first task is to stock up on your favorite liquor—vodka is always a good choice for cocktails.

To avoid buying ingredients you won’t need, decide which cocktails you’ll be made beforehand and then go to the grocery shop with a prepared shopping list. You don’t even have to follow an exact recipe— you can experiment and try something new. Your friends will enjoy the activity and the best part is that you get to taste all the cocktails.

    The bottom line

Hopefully, you’ll incorporate some of these fun activities for your next get-together. Spending quality time with friends is necessary. Otherwise, you risk going mad by the time you turn 30. So, grab the phone, invite your closest crew of people over and organize a fun get-together.
